Design The Room of Your Dreams with Thomas Lavin. And get your name in front of tastemakers, key decision makers, industry VIPs, and potential clients with the 2026 New Wave Design Competition.
Our impressive panel of judges this year includes designers Adam Hunter, Christina Rottman, and Martyn Lawrence Bullard, along with editors Jacqueline Terrebonne (Galerie), Kelly Phillips Badal (LUXE), Laura Eckstein Jones (Modern Luxury Interiors), and Lindsey Shook (California Home + Design).
The winner will be announced on March 18 during the PDC’s Westweek market. An exhibition of all entries will take place at the Thomas Lavin showroom leading up to this and promoted wide and far via the showroom’s vibrant social media platforms. The winning design will be showcased to the world on social and the showroom website, and the designer will take home a $1,000 cash prize.

RULES & GUIDELINES
- You must be 39 years old or younger
- Use ONLY lines represented at Thomas Lavin to create your dream room—bedroom, living room, whatever space you have been fantasizing about
- Design MUST include at least 3 pieces featured on the showroom floor (at the PDC or the Laguna Design Center)
- You can spec all other pieces in your dream room with finishes and materials that are different from floor samples, but ALL must be available through Thomas Lavin. Be sure to check out the Thomas Lavin textile, wall & floor covering, accessory, and art options for inspiration
- Submit a two-page PDF or two JPEGs of your beautiful room—this could be a rendering, a painting, a sketch, a watercolor, a collage, etc.
- Submissions must be in landscape orientation and formatted for widescreen viewing
- Be sure to include on the PDF a legible representation of your name and/or company name. We will be displaying submissions in the showroom during SPRING MARKET (March 18-19) and want everyone to know your name!
- Include a second page with information about your design – who the room is for, your inspirations, why you chose certain designs – anything that will give the judges insight into your design
- By submitting a dream room, you agree to allow Thomas Lavin to feature your design digitally via various Thomas Lavin social and online channels
